Queen Elizabeth National Park is the most well spectacular wildlife and game drive as well boat cruise on Kazinga channel that has the highest concentration of hippos in Africa and many other wild animals that flock this channel for water and experience the hot Air balloon safari.
A Visit to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is located in the south west of Uganda and is the most leading tourism destination in Uganda with over 630 mountain gorilla are found here. You will be able to trek one of the 19 habituated mountain gorilla groups. Besides the Gorillas, you will also have an opportunity to see other primates such as the red-tailed monkeys, chimpanzees, and baboons, black and white Colobus monkeys among others. This forest is also home to 130 mammals, 51 reptiles, 310 butterfly species, 27 species of frogs, geckos, chameleons, 163 tree species, 104 fern species.
Depart Entebbe Kampala for your first day of Uganda Gorilla Trekking safari, which takes about 8 hours drive. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in southwestern Uganda. The journey is quite a long drive but worth it because you get to enjoy the countryside scenery, some of the most beautiful natures images all the way to the Virunga massive. Keep your cameras near to capture that beautiful moment. You will have an en route stopover at the Equator crossing for the photographic and simple experiment before continuing to Mbarara town for Lunch. After lunch, you will embark on your scenic drive to Bwindi National Park. Dinner and overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge/ Trekkers Tavern Lodge/ Mahogany springs.
After early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and joining others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari tour. Once this is done, you will trek through thick forest with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you from half an hour to six hours. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. On your trek, you are likely to spot other primates, birds and rare tree species. After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them before trekking back to the Park headquarters. Thereafter you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.
Later in the afternoon, you will take a village walk which will offer you a great chance to see how the people surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The walk begins with your tour guide at Buhoma Community Rest Camp and who is resourceful about the community, the walk is worthwhile. It will amaze you how resourceful the local people are as you see and learn their ways and it also a great way to support the local community in a direct way.
Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge/ Trekkers Tavern Lodge/Mahogany springs.
After early breakfast head for Ishasha sector, which is the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park which is one of the most outstanding treasures of Uganda, and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve for Humanity under UNESCO auspices. It borders on Lake George and Lake Edward as well as Kazinga Channel in the western area of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. You will drive in the Ishasha sector as your searching lion tree climbing and then check in for lodge.
After lunch takes a 2-hour launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. This waterway joins Lakes Edward and George and it is filled with schools of hippos, buffaloes with elephants at the banks. You are likely to meet grazing hippos, elephants, lions, spotted hyenas and leopards, Bushbuck, Waterbuck and striped jackal and of-course the several warthogs. After the launch cruise will take a short evening game drive.
Have dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge/Enganzi Lodge/Bush Lodge/Katara Lodge.
After breakfast head to Kyambura gorge for a nature walk in an underground forest to such for primates like Chimpanzees, Baboons, monkeys and many more. While here, you will see different types of trees on which forest elephants feed, and then you will back to lodge to lunch and afternoon game drive.
After lunch, you will embark on afternoon game drive in the main camp at Mweya peninsula, which is attractively positioned, separating Lake George from Lake Edward by Kazinga channel. This will provide you with the opportunity to view animals like jackals, Bushbucks, forest hogs, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, lions, the beautiful Uganda Kobs, bush pigs among others. Later, back to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge/Enganzi Lodge/Bush Lodge/Katara Lodge.
Experience the wildlife of Queen Elizabeth National Park in a new unique way. Wake up early to catch the sunrise, as you silently fly over the plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Admire the herds of buffaloes, elephants and enjoy the serene tranquility of the African bush. You will take off early at dawn for a flight that lasts for approximately 1 hour. Rise as the suns rise and float in whatever direction the winds of the morning takes you.
Fly higher than the trees and hills and enjoy the best of Uganda, with many great photo opportunities of the scenery and wildlife below. After a smooth landing you can celebrate this amazing adventure with bush breakfast and a glass of sparkling juice before returning to your lodge for lunch and afternoon. Visit the Northern crater area, this place has a scenic area of explosion craters, some containing salt lakes like Lake Katwe which are formed by volcanic activity some thousand years ago. Some of these craters are dry. These characteristic stunning vantage points are waterless during the dry season.
